False. Squids=death. If you act like an idiot, you can get killed on any motorcycle.

if your bike has the power sooner or later you will "test' it... I always wondered why someone would buy a 200 mph bike.... like the answers above... if you're an idiot you will get hurt

Stupid people who ride like idiots die on crotch rockets (as well as any bike). The problem is, they are a lot more tempting to go really fast on.
To answer the other part, I built my own bike. It's a 1650cc hard tail chopper. It has about 100hp and has more power and torque than I know what to do with. Luckily, I don't drive like an idiot. |

I ride a HD Road King....but unlike some other haters on here who bag on everything HD, I don't put down crotch rockets. I actually think they are pretty cool, but that's not the kind of riding I want to do. I prefer to cruise, enjoy the scenery, and have a long comfortable ride. **and to those who will tell me HD aint the only company that makes cruisers.....I'm well aware of that....I owned a VTX1300R and I much prefer my Road King.**
And what I think about a person on a crotch rocket ? Nothing.....I look at them as a fellow rider who enjoys a different experience than I do......I wave to them and hope they ride safe. I had a neighbor that "showed" custom crotch rockets and his bikes were cool as hell. But to answer....no they don't equal death. Anyone can die on a M/C....the 1's who ride like idiots are the likely 1's to die, but even the most responsible rider can be killed by someone in a car or truck who drives like an idiot or just aint paying attention. Crotch rocket or cruiser....HD or Kawasaki....we all need to be aware of all that is around us and ride safe !!! |

no. immature rider on crotch rocket (or any motorcycle)= death.
The only reason you see more wrecks on crotch rockets is because young riders are pushing the edge without having the experience or training to stay alive. Put an experienced rider on any bike, and his odds for living go up greatly over a new or in experienced rider. I've ridden for 42 years. I haven't been knocked off one in 25+ but when I was young and though I knew it all, I sure was hurt bad a couple of times. |

Death? - False
The bikes are fine. It's the small percentage of idiots riding them, that give them a bad reputation. If you ride a sportbike with respect, they can be the safest bikes on the road. Lightening fast response (acceleration, stopping power and maneuverability) will give you an advantage over other bikes, when in a panic situation. |

Crotch rocket+lack of skill+pushing limits=Death
Sport bikes are the evolution of the motorcycle. They are the most agile and powerful road motorcycles made. If you have the experience and you want to feel totally connected to the road and the bike as you slither through tight turns at top speed the sport bike is what you want. Quality depends on the company. All the Japanese bikes are pretty good, along with BMW, Triumph, and the Italian bikes. The Harly/buell is pretty much a non contender. |

False= new riders riding like idiots kill themselves real quick ,it's not the bike it's the rider drive with a bit of common sense and don't go over your limits ,what would happen if you gave a Ferrari to a 16 year old as a first car they would most likely be dead within a short time

I think they are wonderful machines that are often purchased by inexperienced riders because they think it looks cool and want to brag to their friends about how fast their bike is. They buy all of the race replica gear so they'll look like a Moto GP racer and then call Harley riders posers because they own a pair of leather HD chaps...go figure. But to answer your question, these are very high performance machines that should not be in the hands of a beginner.

False, squids are deadly. cagers on cellphones are deadly. 15year-olds on cell phone putting on makeup drinking coffee are deadly.
rockets, no rockets, i ride one and i LOVE it. ey are not junkie... much better than american motorcycles. if well taken care of, a jap bike will last u 60 000 - 80 000 miles i dont think, i pop a wheelie, or stick ma hand out if there is traffic in front of me. |

Nothing against crotch rockets per se.
They do trash a lot of cocky newbies though. Fine if you've got some skill & sense, grissly death if you don't. |
