I need to find the dealership that my Yamaha Vino was purchased from(so I can get a new key made).

I believe the vehicle was purchased in Illinois/Indiana.

I have a 6 digit Dealer number that is located in my manual.

Is there some system that I can use to search for Yamaha or Scooter dealerships.

    The number is 029140.

All you need is the VIN # the dealer doesnt matter
If you just want to know call any dealer & ask by that #

Call any Yamaha dealer. Have them call Yamaha and explain the situation. Maybe you can get the information straight from the factory.

Unless Yamaha has a policy of not giving that information, I don't see why they wouldn't. I'm not aware of any lists like that at the dealership I work at but you know Yamaha has one. You will have to have a dealer call for you. We call Yamaha dozens of times a day. You want the key code. Thats why you need the original dealer. Also check Carfax if you can.

A dealer cannot make a key from just knowing the VIN # of the bike.
If that was so, anyone can walk in and ask for a key - after they wrote down the VIN # of a bike they saw parked in a parking lot.
When new bikes are sold - a metal tag is included with the set of keys and has the key code # on it.
That #, also on the key itself, the new owner should record it in the owners manual.
Every shop I've worked at, when a key has been lost, the ignition switch had to be sent to a locksmith.
Call Yamah for the dealership location -

Can't answer the same question twice aye?

If you pick a best answer credit the first post by MR H.
...the one telling you to call the dealer
(I was at home and could not find out at the time)
I (MR H) had to sign on with a different username after chasing down the info for you.
