    I know a guy who got some Aprillia 50cc motorcycle. It is titled as a moped although it probably varies by state.

    Depends on what engine size you want. You should want a scooter that looks like a scooter, because that's what everyone will see. If having the automatic transmission is the only thing that is setting you apart I would recommend taking a MSF safety course and actually learn how to operate a motorcycle, beacuse they are more versatile than scooters.

    Another option would be an automatic motorcycle.Otherwise get a scooter that looks like a scooter and who cares what others think. I ride a little Honda Metropolitan 50cc scooter. I look like a circus bear riding one of those tiny bikes (225 lbs),but I still bust 100 mpg so I don't care what others think.
